Presenting my candidacy for the presidency of the European Society of Intensive Care Medicine (ESICM) is driven by a profound commitment to advancing the field of intensive care and improving patient outcomes. My journey in intensive care has been deeply rewarding, and I am inspired by the collective efforts of ICU professionals worldwide who strive to shape the future of this field. As a candidate, I am motivated by the opportunity of keep contributing to the Society's mission of fostering clinical excellence, education and research. I believe that my experience and vision can help drive strategic initiatives that promote opportunities for the young generations, collaboration, innovation, and excellence in intensive care medicine.

ESICM: Chair and Deputy of the SIS section, country representative for Spain, member of the research committee, congress committee, council, and executive committee as Treasurer. I have been representing ESICM at the steering committee of the Surviving Sepsis Campaign during two mandates. I have organized in my Department several ESICM NEXT fellowships on sepsis, infection, sedation, ARDS, and others.

We need progressing in diversity and inclusivity, with equal opportunities to all.
Freedom of movement for intensivists in Europe is a fundamental target.
Promote organizational models that improve professional well-being.

Critically ill patients should receive high quality of care by intensive care professionals wherever they are.
We need to update the ESICM quality and safety indicators.

Promote the DIGITALIZATION of ICUs with integration of the medical devices.
Prepare the ICU for the use of data, algorithms, automation and IA.
